Norfolk Flight Center, LLC was founded by Baron, Peter Surina in June 2009 and established operations at Norfolk International Airport (ORF) on July 1, 2009, as a full-blown flight training facility. After the 1st year of operation, the flight center transferred their home base and operations to a more general aviation friendly facility at Hampton Roads Executive Airport (PVG), where uninterrupted flight training and expansion was a possibility. Still falling under the Norfolk airspace, the flight center decided to keep its original name of Norfolk Flight Center, LLC. Currently still in operation, the flight school has grown to include an air tour division (Hampton Roads Air Tours), aircraft cosmetic services (Detail Works Plus, LLC), aircraft purchasing brokerage, privately owned aircraft flight instruction (including aircraft management), airplane ferry operations and also became the predominant regional FAA Written Knowledge Testing center partnering with PSI/ Talogy for all aviation written testing. Norfolk Flight Center trains pilots, both manned and unmanned, with pilot licenses ranging from Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) all the way through Airline Transport Pilot (ATP). Among them include Sport Pilot, Recreational Pilot, Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument Ratings, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI, CFI-I, MEI) and Multi and Single Engine Add-on Airplane Ratings. Furthermore, they offer Tail Wheel, Complex, High Performance, Spin and High-Altitude Endorsements.
